Arsenal's £12m bid for Marseille playmaker Samir Nasri is in jeopardy of being hijacked by Lyon.
Nasri was expected in London yesterday with reports in the French press depicting his proposed transfer to the Gunners as a done deal. However, there was no sign of Nasri at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday and it has since emerged that Lyon have lodged their own bid for his services.
"No agreement has been finalised. It's true we are looking into a bid by Arsenal that interests Nasri in sporting terms, but it's also true that other offers have entered my office," Jean-Pierre Bernes, Nasri's agent, told The Daily Telegraph.
"Samir Nasri can't already be considered an Arsenal player, not at all. It's premature."
Although Arsenal are thought to have reached an agreement with Marseille, Lyon may be prepared to use winger Hatem Ben Arfa, a player with whom the Gunners have also been linked, as bait.
