Q：Will the PC have next-gen gameplay and graphics and if not, why not?
F：The gameplay engine that we've built for the Xbox 360 and PS3 is designed for multi-threaded, multi-core consoles. This is a significantly larger amount of power than even the top-end PCs on the market right now. Unlike many FPS titles that scale through dropping down the graphics detail, most of the power is used for the gameplay to calculate AI, animation, ball physics etc – we can’t drop the number of players!.
We have done tests that show that our new gameplay engine takes up to 34 times the CPU power of the CG gameplay engine. In other words, there are very few PC's available in the market that could run a next-gen FIFA 08 gameplay engine.Instead, we've focused on innovating and polishing the gameplay on the current-gen engine for FIFA 08 PC. We've also improved the graphics and added 8-player LAN this year.
Q：Will the game be any harder than previous versions?
F：You will find in the PS2 and PC version that you’ll need to work harder for your goals. The gameplay is much deeper with the new manual controls, improved positioning and tighter defense. We’ve worked really hard to create a great game that you’ll find challenging for a long, long time.
Q：Can the goal keepers take free kicks in FIFA 08
F：Yes! They can also take corner kicks, and you can even call them up late in the game if down a goal to improve your chances of scoring.
问：PC版的FIFA08会有次世代图像效果吗？如果没有，为什么不使用这个新图形引擎呢？
答：我们为xbox360和PS3设计的新引擎是为多核心、多线程计算 而设计。就算在顶级的pc领域，这也是一种具有强大效能的占用大量能耗的引擎。我们不能仅仅像一些FPS游戏所标称的那样，通过降低图像细节，而将引擎大部分的效能用于游戏中的AI计算、足球物理轨迹的计算、球员的动作制作等等——别忘了，我们不能忽视掉场上还要有22名栩栩如生的球员！！
我们已经做过测试，测试的结果显示我们的新引擎的运行速度是现在的CPU计算CG游戏引擎的34倍！换句话说，现在市场上只有极少数的pc可以运行次世代fifa08游戏引擎。而作为补偿，我们致力于改进和完善用于fifa08的现世代引擎。我们同时提高了这个引擎的图像细节而且在今年的游戏中我们增加了8人局域网对战。
看来PC版的FIFA继续没戏,XO版的FIFA这么好... |
