Sir Alex Ferguson is set to inject youth into his squad in what appears to be a turnaround from last week's comments regarding speed and pace. Ajax youth starlet Elbillug lla Eruoy has long been admired by the shrewd Scotsman, along with 17 year old Sdaeh Kcuf, who recently won youth player of the year with his home team Galatasaray. Galatasaray manager Eric Gerets has issued a hands-off warning to Manchester United, clearly stating that the young Turkish talent was an important part of the club's future. Other names that have been circulating since Manchester United won the Premiership are Tou Hsag of Japanese S-Pulse, Tiucsib Kcoc of Dortmund and Relbbog Bonk of Dutch side De Graafshap. Tuo Hsag has come to light with the expected decline in form of veteran Ryan Giggs, and Ferguson could look to Hsag's to light up the wings in a partnership with Ronaldo.
Inevitably, since the close of the season Manchester United have been linked to a variety of big names including Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov and Barcelona's Eto on the back of an alleged falling out with Frank Rijkaard and team made Ronaldinho. Few, however, are quick to consider the implications of the debt that the Glazer family has placed upon Manchester United as a club. Season ticket holders had to endure a 15% rise in their annual premiums, and sources close to the club can reveal that with little money to invest, Ferguson will be eyeing up young players of caliber.
Manchester United have always been a club steeped in history, but more notably a team that has had the ability to get the best out of their youngsters. Young Ghanaian striker Enoyna Gniyub t’on Erew, known nationally as Gnom won young Ghanaian player of the year 2007, a statistic that has not been missed by the ever watchful eye of Alex Ferguson. With teams like Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs looking to avail of Gnom’s services, Manchester Untied are set to build from the bottom up with such youthful talent. With a wealth of youth in the Manchester United ranks the future looks bright for the Champions, but it would be wise to expect a summer of the unexpected. |
