Martin (Tyler), can you tell me who will miss out/get Premiership medals for Manchester United as it stands. As a Hammer I am hoping Fergie has to send out a few of his 'lesser' players to give them a medal! Alex Grainger
MARTIN SAYS: Well Alex, you might be pleased to know that there is no-one on the fringe as it were, although it has been known for managers to rest a few players with the FA Cup final six days away. As you probably know, the minimum requirement for a Premiership winner's medal is 10 games, although the Premier League have been
known to give them out under special circumstances. Dion Dublin got one in 1993 after breaking his leg and playing only seven games and it might be the case for Alan
Smith, who if he appears in United's last two games, will have only made nine league appearances this season.
Just for the record here are the men who, after 36 games, do qualify for a medal under the rules and their total appearances,
either as a sub or in the starting XI:
Wes Brown (20); Michael Carrick (31), Patrice Evra (21), Rio Ferdinand (33), Darren Fletcher (22), Ryan Giggs (29), Gabriele Heinze (20), Gary Neville (24), John O'Shea (30), Ji-Sung Park (14), Kieran Richardson (13), Cristiano Ronaldo (33), Wayne Rooney (33), Louis Saha (24), Paul Scholes (29), Mikael Silvestre (14), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (17), Edwin van der Sar (31), Nemanjar Vidic (25).
Here are the handful that don't: Tomasz Kuszczak (5), Henrik Larsson (7), Alan Smith (7).
