David Silva's Agent Holds Meeting With Real Madrid At The Bernabeu

David Silva's agent, Julio Llorente, has reportedly been at the Bernabeu this morning to discuss a contract with Real Madrid for the Valencia winger.

The Spanish international is widely expected to leave the Mestalla this year with Madrid or Liverpool thought to be his likely destination.

AS reports that Llorente was in Spain and not England today though as he met with Madrid sports director to discuss a salary for Silva.

It is claimed that the meeting went on for around an hour and a half, and they also spoke about the sporting expectations of the winger.

With regards to the price of the deal, Madrid are expecting to pay around 20 million to secure the signature of the Spanish international.

As well as Silva, the capital club appear to be on the verge of signing Kaka, and are reportedly in the market for Franck Ribery and Cristiano Ronaldo too.

Nevertheless, Madrid know that Valencia will not make a decision about Silva for at least another three days, when they are holding a shareholders meeting.

After that, the situation of both Silva and David Villa could become clearer, and one of them could well be off to the capital.

Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona over the past month.

The recent comments of both the agent and player himself have prompted the Italian press to speculate that Ibrahimovic is no longer content at the San Siro and a move to the Camp Nou could be on the cards.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Nerazzurri president Massimo Moratti is currently in Barcelona to negotiate the sale of his star striker to the Blaugrana.

The Swedish international was an influential figure in Inter's Scudetto victory and top scorer in Serie A this season with 25 goals to his name.

Any move for the former Ajax star would likely involve a substantial amount of money and possibly Samuel Eto'o moving in the other direction to the San Siro.

In fact, according to tuttomercatoweb, the meeting between Moratti and Barcelona officials is taking place at the Hotel Majestic, where the agent of Eto'o is also present.

The Corriere dello Sport adds that the deal has received the blessing of Jose Mourinho and Inter will receive approximately 30 million plus the Cameroon international. The negotiations will continue into the night, but a successful resolution is expected

Official: Atletico Madrid Confirm Abel Resino As Coach For One More Season
Resino’s future at the Vicente Calderon has finally been resolved…
Atletico Madrid have confirmed that coach, Abel Resino will stay on at the helm next season after successfully guiding the team to a fourth place finish in the Primera Division.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “On Thursday June 4, Atletico Madrid’s Executive Committee have accepted the proposal of sporting director, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, to retain Abel Resino as the coach of Club Atletico de Madrid S.A.D.

“Therefore, the Committee has given their approval for the sports director to negotiate contract terms with the coach.”

Although no details of the contract extension were provided, club president, Enrique Cerezo later went on Cadena SER programme, ‘El Larguero’ to elaborated on the agreement.

“We have accepted Abel’s extension for one more season,” he said. “The sporting director has made a great argument before the committee and we are all in agreement and we have accepted the decision unanimously.

“Nobody at the club ever doubted that he was the coach for us because he has had a magnificent end to the season while playing good football.

“We have defended Abel and we will always defend Abel,” he roared, before going on to dispel rumours that the club had spoken with ex-Real Madrid trainer, Juande Ramos.

Resino and Atleti are expected to resume training for the new campaign on July 11 in preparation for the Champions League qualifying round.

Real Betis forward Edu has reportedly rejected a contract from Sevilla because he does not want to move to los verdiblancos' arch-rivals.
The Brazilian's current deal with Betis expires this summer and there is no doubt that he is a wanted man in Spain.
It was reported earlier in the week that Sevilla were interested in him, but now it appears Edu has turned down their offer.
Marca claims that the Champions League club offered the Brazilian a three-year deal, and also the chance to be one of the better paid players at Sevilla.
Nevertheless, he is reportedly unsure about moving from Betis to Sevilla and has turned down the initial offer.
His agent, Jose Fuentes, is trying to convince him that a move to Sevilla might be the best option though, especially due to his injury problems and his age (30).
Fuentes has told the player about the benefits of staying, both for himself and his family, and most importantly, it seems no other clubs are willing to meet his demands.
Both Atletico Madrid and Villarreal are interested in signing him but neither are ready to pay him the 2 million salary that Sevilla are offering.
