David Moyes last night admitted he doesn't know when crocked new signing Louis Saha will be able to make his debut.
The desperate Everton boss is taking Saha from Manchester United to replace Andy Johnson in a pay-as-you-play deal with no initial fee. The French striker's last game was in March and Moyes claims he is sidelined with a calf strain.
Saha barely kicked a ball in pre-season and it could be weeks before he plays for the Blues.
"He's had no pre-season games and I have no estimate as to when he may play," said Moyes whose side yesterday drew Standard Liege in the UEFA Cup,. "As far as I know, he's in pretty good nick. He had just picked up a calf strain in training.
"That's not far away from being OK. Yes, he's had injury problems and if he had been playing every game, we wouldn't be getting him for next to nothing. There will be some money after he's played games, but there is no initial outlay. He has to play before we pay."
