This methodological approach, developed by Professor Mike Bottery, is a process involving semi-structured interviews and ‘portraits’ of individuals which focus upon their beliefs, plans and challenges. It is currently being used to research leadership practice and beliefs in England Hong Kong. In-depth interviews with these leaders about these portraits suggest that reflection upon this procedure by many of these individuals was not only felt to be extremely supportive and thought-provoking, but in some cases led to life-changing decisions.
