Oh if only that wikipedia 'source' was true.

Just out of interest - will these deals with various Premier League teams, that EA have made, have affect any premier league licensing review in future or can we one day expect the likes of city, chelsea, arsenal etc in next gen PES?

I'm pretty sure these EPL deals with Chelsea, City, Spurs etc are multi year deals mate. Sure, in a few years when it comes to renewal Konami might have a chance- but realistically I can't see EA losing them. In the grand scheme of things I don't think it makes any difference to PES next gen as with a improved editing suite I'm sure we'll see even better looking kits etc with next gen option files.

On a final point, EA might have all these licenses but the quality of their kits/licensed stadia is quite poor compared to PES. I hope going forward, Konami give us more options for designing stadiums/ad boads etc and really make the editing capabilities deeper for the community wizkids

+1

Having that love for editing doesn't disappear with age.

25 years old and still editing my xbox PES 5 to bring it right up to date.
Prem 2012/13 well on the way to being sorted now

In terms of editing etc, one thing i'd love is if we can upload photographs to display in stadium selection and ability to choose location so it shows where it is.

And while i'm rambling, i;d like to be able to choose from set stadia when creating tournaments i.e. making Brazil 2014 stadia and having an 'international cup' using only brazilian stadia. Fifa RTWC had a great sense of atmosphere when it came to stadia, zooming into stadium from afar. Animated scenes of stadium exterior and fans entering stadium would also be great.

In the build up to PES 2012 Jon Murphy explained how Konami tried to negotiate with the EPL to get the league licenced. However, the EPL's relationship with EA was so tight that Konami were effectively frozen out. That, in combination with EA's recent tactic of deepening that relationship by signing exclusivity deals with the top EPL clubs, makes it look likely that an authentic EPL will remain the preserve of the option file for a while to come.

Still, PES' licence situation isn't exactly bad - it's good in my opinion. The Spanish, French and Dutch leagues are fully licenced, with the Italian league being complete in all but name and logo. Edit mode provides sufficient tools to work around the partial licencing of the English and Portuguese leagues, and of course there's the Bundesliga-shaped 'PES League'. And we also have the Copa Libertadores and the trio of UEFA competitions. And that was just PES 2012....

Of course, I appreciate how someone could remain unsatisfied if their own national league still isn't represented in PES.
The sun is beating down and the wind is shooting through the stadium!

Yes when it comes to licenses we only can wait for an official comfirmation. Theres always so many rumours aboit it.

Ithink konami has the best licenses. Chapions league Europa league and Copa libertadores. Leagues you can edit but the champions leugue lay out you cant, it what the game comes with

Recent tweet from Marvin Ronsdorf (proevo.de) saying that manual shooting option IS possible without pressing L2 each time, via settings!

Presumably a reliable source.

Really it makes sense if Konami want a little boost in sales imo. People will be dying for the latest virtual football fix and I reckon some Fifa fans would buy PES to tide them over (and win them over  ) until Fifa comes out.
