Players reacted and understood more intricate passing patterns, dribblers couldn't be forced off the ball - they'd retain possession by means of supreme agility, strength or accuracy. So the point here is, even when you deliberately choose a superior team, it is irrelevant. It seems that human controlled players are inferior, no matter who they are, no matter who they're against. My last 4 or so games have caused this frustration. I just felt like smashing a weak team for enjoyment rather than challenge, and then I get beaten 5-1 as England against Denmark, 3-0 as Barcelona against Ajax, to name but a few.

Are your players in good form? (good or exellent, normal should be the minimum in 1th half), because I had that problem too, but since I keep an eye on the form arrows, my team can play good. I don't mind my striker has only 68 in attack while my best striker has 76, When he is out of form he's substitute for later. For me I see form as the luck factor.

But I have another problem, I always play against well matched sub-teams and most of my matches end in a draw.
That's fine, I found the sweet spot, but I would rather score more. It seems I can't shoot with that ball, I try to understand what I'm doing wrong, but I miss so many chances. I think I hit the poles 4-5 times each match, at least
Even shots with space in front of me go wide or straight in the middle.I can't say they are too weak or too strong, they just don't work for me. I think due the new animations I misstime my shots or so, I don't know.

Anyway, I learned to defend in these matches, I can end a match with a draw or win via penaties, even hen thing got nasty.
They don't get through with lofted through balls anymore (or they must be lucky)

For me pre final 5 is an exellent patch with great animations, physical play and active AI.
Also very very good keepers, I've seen reflex saves I never saw before but in real life.
But I hope one day I will understand shooting though.
