PES 2014: It's almost time... Surely?
There's a familiar feeling amongst the PES community - one that is common at this time of year. "This is the calm before the storm - it's coming."
Obviously, "It" being PES 2014.
Now, whilst we have no official word on PES 2014 by name (technically, the existence of the game still hasn't been acknowledged by Konami - other than calling it the next edition in the PES series), the first news has to be landing soon, right?
We know we'll get behind the scenes info from Kei Masuda at Konami's 3rd pre-E3 show - so we're only 3 weeks away from that, but will we find anything else out before?
We've already seen how Kojima Productions' powerful Fox Engine has been moulded into a new PES-friendly format in the EDGE reveal. Following that we've also been told the news that the AFC Champions League will make its way into the next PES - another great demonstration of PES Productions shrugging of the unrelenting licensing competition they're faced with and thinking globally, not locally - but despite this, there's still no sign of an official monicker.
Looking back, we already knew about PES 2013 at this point last year - the first news actually arrived in April (pre E3). Looking forward, E3 is on the horizon which invariably means that everything in the games industry cranks up a notch.
So, with all this in mind (and this is perhaps the most obvious statement that you'll read today), even though we don't have any official dates, we'd bet our bottom dollars on the first PES 2014 news arriving very soon, and (if there was ever any doubt) you can count on us to bring it all to you.
So, what would you like to - and what are you expecting to see when it finally does drop? More info on the new engine? Gameplay? Let us know in the forum. |
