the old player-specific ability stars have been replaced by ability cards, which can be viewed as part of player stats. They look like trading cards with unique logos. Every player in the game has 12 ability card slots, but even the world’s best players only have nine or so actual abilities.

Some cards are fixed, like One Touch, Reaction, One-on-One (as in PES 2009), but newer cards (listed below) can be toggled on or off, since they have a bearing on your overall tactical approach. For example, you may want to disable a player’s “Free Roaming” card if you're looking to play a controlled marking game. There are no constraints though, so you could feasibly play all your cards at once.
