Former Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi believes the Rossoneri have an advantage over Inter as they head into the derby della Madonina this weekend.
Both teams will face off in what promises to be a spectacular Milanese derby as there is plenty up for grabs.
Milan will be playing for a place in the Champions League where as Inter have their eyes on wrapping up the scudetto in front of their bitter rivals.
Sacchi however is confident that the Rossoneri will take all the glory.
“If Milan win the derby then they will open everything up,” Sacchi told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“The Rossoneri will come into the game in good condition and finally they have been able to train hard physically and tactically.
“Ancelotti’s men are in better shape physically and they seem more motivated. I think the game against the Nerazzurri will be difficult but Milan can do it.
“Mancini’s men are doing well but I have a feeling that they are not in sparkling form.”
The Rossoneri will be hoping for Maximum points against Inter. A win will not only see them move closer to the Champions League but it will blow open the Serie A title race once again.
Anything less than a win will put their hopes for fourth place in jeopardy as well as see Inter crowned champions.

The Rossoneri are struggling to qualify for Europe’s premier club competition, as with just three games remaining, they trail fourth-placed Fiorentina by two points.

Milan also have a difficult run-in as their three remaining matches are the derby against Inter, an away trip to Napoli, and a home clash with Udinese.

Ahead of this Sunday’s clash with the Nerazzurri, Inzaghi has promised that Milan will collect maximum points from these games.

"The derby means a great deal. It is compulsory to beat Inter, Napoli and Udinese,” the prolific striker told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

”Milan will do this. We will win the derby and the other two game. We will be in the Champions League.”

Inzaghi has been in simply stunning form of late, having scored eight goals in his last four games. Asked just how he can still be performing so brilliantly at the age of nearly 35, the World Cup winner had a simple answer.

"The pleasure of playing," he stated. Inzaghi is making a late charge to be called up to Roberto Donadoni’s Euro 2008 squad.

   卡卡说他无法想象一个没有冠军杯的AC米兰。“目前为止，我不想去考虑这个。作为球员来说，他总是愿意站在更高处。冠军杯非常重要。如果下赛季真的无法参加，我们可以去看看其他赛场，比如联盟杯。”
   巴西金童认为，尽管球队现在在联赛积分榜上处境不佳，但他给本赛季的红黑军团打7.5分：“我们赢得了欧洲超级杯和世俱杯。因此还是有很多积极的因素，消极的方面则是冠军杯1/8决赛被淘汰和联赛的成绩。”

It's just a matter of days now before one of the most highly-anticipated Milan derbies in recent years kicks off. The stakes are sky-high for both sides, as the Rossoneri need a win at all costs to maintain hopes of pipping Fiorentina to the fourth place, while Inter will make sure of their third consecutive Scudetto if they take all three points.

"It will be hard to prevent Inter winning the Scudetto," says Milan playmaker Kaká, "but the ideal thing would be to postpone their party.

"For them it would be the third consecutive Scudetto, but I wouldn't be proud of it, I wouldn't say it like that: they only won two of those on the pitch, one more deserved than the other."

Considering the statistics, Inter are the clear favorites in this derby, as they are 23 points ahead in the standings and they've also won the last three derbies.

"That's also why we really want to win this game," Kaká continued, "we want to postpone their party and qualify for the Champions League.

"A mark for our season? I'd say 7.5. There were many positive things, like the European Supercup and the Club World Cup which we both won."

On the two teams' contrasting league form, he said: "We made a choice to focus on the Club World Cup, so we were penalised.

"While other teams rested, we were playing matches that had to be recovered.

"Inter's strength? Certainly the group. They have a big squad and it doesn't matter much who plays. But lately we are in better form and we have found back an incredible Inzaghi."

On the atmosphere in the city of Milan during the week that culminates with the derby: "There's a very civil atmosphere, the Rossoneri fans stop me on the street and tell me we need to win on Sunday. But also the Inter fans stop me and say 'don't do anything stupid next Sunday.'

"How I think things will go? Hoping we beat Inter, I think Fiorentina won't win at Cagliari."

It truly is crunch time in the Milan derby this weekend, with Inter looking to seal a third straight Scudetto and the Rossoneri aiming to keep the pressure on fourth-place Fiorentina as they look to secure Champions League football next term. The San Siro tussle is a feisty affair at the best of times, so you can only imagine what the players are thinking going into arguably the most important game of the season. Local bragging rights are always welcome, but putting a massive dent in their arch-rivals’ season is the prize at stake for the victors. A few weeks ago it looked like this would have far more riding on it for Inter than the ‘home’ side, as Roberto Mancini’s men were seemingly doing their best to throw the title away. However, after a brief wobble the Nerazzurri have now picked up four victories on the spin to move within touching distance of a hat-trick of Scudetti following Roma’s recent stumble against Livorno. A six-point lead with just three games remaining looks insurmountable, but if anyone can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory then it is certainly Inter. Milan, meanwhile, looked dead and buried in the race for Champions League football. Carlo Ancelotti’s men lost to Roma, Sampdoria, Atalanta and Juventus in the space of a month to leave their hopes hanging by a thread, but consecutive thumping wins over relegation fodder – Reggina and Livorno – means that they now trail Fiorentina by just two points. With the Viola having UEFA Cup exploits to contend with, there is still everything to play for. With an injury list that includes Ronaldo, Paolo Maldini – who may have played his last Milan derby if he goes through with his threat to quit at the end of the season – Emerson, Marcos Cafu, Nelson Dida and Serginho, it comes as no surprise to learn that Carletto is keen to keep an unchanged starting XI from the team who overcame Livorno 4-1 courtesy of a Pippo Inzaghi hat-trick. On the blue and black half of the San Siro, however, expect a couple of changes from Mancio as he opts for experience over youthful exuberance. That means no starting place for Mario Balotelli, with Hernan Crespo expected to be recalled alongside Julio Cruz to take on the side he represented in the 2004-05 season. Marco Materazzi – one of the heroes of last term’s stunning derby win and the match-winner against Cagliari last week – also looks set for a place in the team at the expense of Nicolas Burdisso. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Luis Figo, Ivan Cordoba, Walter Samuel and Olivier Dacourt remain injured. The Nerazzurri have enjoyed an upturn in fortune when it comes to the derby, winning four of the last five after going three years without enjoying success against Milan. The last two matches have finished 2-1, with Inter coming from behind on both occasions. The Rossoneri, however, have generally enjoyed these meetings far more than their neighbours since the turn of the century, racking up two Champions League victories, as well as a record 6-0 success back in 2001. A repeat is unlikely, but neutrals will be hoping to see a similar meeting to last term, when Mancini’s men took a seven-goal thriller which had a bit of everything. Keep an eye on: Marco Materazzi (Inter) – Derby day is always massive for Matrix and few players show as much passion as him in this clash.
