The Italian website Spaziogames interviewed Naoya Hatsumi, executive producer of PES, in the past Gamescom 2013.

Naoya Hatsumi explained that part of the work of creating faces was delayed due to the change of the graphics engine, in fact the faces of the players are created manually by the developers and the new FOX Engine engine has delayed this work.
Hatsumi addition clarifies that continue adding faces year after year in order to further increase the database available for the game.
